Catherine of Taranto

Caterina d'Enghien Orsini was a daughter of Mary of Enghien and Raimondo del Balzo Orsini di Nola.

She was married to Tristan, Count of Copertino (1380- c 1432), a knight of the French family of de Clermont-Lodeve.

Tristan became Count of Copertino as part of the dowry of his wife. The two had two daughters:

• Isabella di Chiaromonte, who married Ferdinand I of Naples, becoming Queen of Naples and Jerusalem.
• Sancia di Chiaromonte, Countess of Copertino and Lady of Nardò. She married 1436 Francesco II del Balzo (1410–1482), 3rd Duke of Andria, who became Count of Copertino as part of the dowry of his wife. She died on 30 March 1468.
